Russel is the VP of Hardware for ShipHero. As the company’s first hire, Russel joined the team at its inception and worked alongside Founder & CEO Aaron Rubin to build the original foundation of the platform. Today, he leads the strategy and development of ShipHero’s physical product line, ensuring that hardware innovations—like the Pick-to-Light system and Tap-to-Pack—seamlessly integrate with the software to drive warehouse efficiency.
Russel’s leadership style is defined by a "nitty-gritty" approach; he is an engineer at heart who is at his best when he’s in the code with his team, solving complex technical challenges from the ground up. Having spearheaded the launch of ShipHero’s first hardware initiatives—which now power Pick-to-Light, Direct Pack and Receive-to-light workflows—he continues to lead R&D on the next generation of products that bridge the gap between digital systems and physical operations.
His passion for ShipHero comes from having seen the company evolve from its earliest stages into a global leader. He remains dedicated to the same goal he had on day one: creating reliable, intuitive tools that solve real-world problems for the people who keep supply chains moving. Outside of the office, Russel enjoys going to local car meets, playing video games, and heading to theme parks with his wife and daughter.
